National Service Scheme (NSS)
The enrolment to the National Service Scheme is recommended to the Students.
1. The College has three gents' wings and one women's wing of the National Service Scheme (three wings for +3, one wing for +2)
2. The aims and objectives of N.S.S. are-
a) To develop character, comradeship, ideals of service and arouse a sense of involvement in the task of national development and reconstruction.
b) To enable the students to acquire work experience which would help them to seek and secure avenues of self employment or co-operative employment after student career.
3. a) Enrolment to the N.S.S. is through interview.
b) Once enrolled, a student will ordinarily continue as member of the N.S.S. till the end of his/her course at this college unless his/her membership is
cancelled on the grounds of-
i) Indiscipline
ii) Irregularity
iii) Gross Misconduct
c) Every student enrolled to N.S.S. has to attend a minimum of two hours programme twice during a week, Attendance at the programme is recorded.
d) Besides the bi-weekly programmes, a student belonging to N.S.S. may be required to attend two annual camps.
e) Depending on the availability of Govt., University grants, light refreshment is provided to the students at the bi-weekly programme.
4. The N.S.S. committee of the college is composed of
a) Chairman (Principal, Ex-officio)
b) Officer-in-charge of N.S.S. Units.
c) Officer-in-charge of N.C.C.
d) Student leaders of N.S.S. (One leader from each Unit to be nominated by the respective Officer-in-charge. The senior most officer of N.S.S.
will act as the Secretary of the N.S.S. committee.)
5. Students enrolled in N.S.S. are subject to:
a) Such rules as are recommended by the Education Commission, University and the Government and
b) Such rules, order and disciplinary measures as are prescribed by the NSS officers and the Principal from time to time.
